Chrysler is taking a page from the insect world with its latest set of high-performance machinery. Just as the bright yellow and black motif of a bumble bee is meant to warn potential predators that they might get stung if they come too close, the new
2012 Charger SRT8 Super Bee and Challenger SRT8 392 Yellow Jacket feature Stinger Yellow and Pitch Black paint schemes to signal their ill intent.
Included in the Charger Super Bee package for 2012, in either yellow or black motifs, is a full sticker and stripe package highlighting the 3D helmeted bee logo along with five-spoke aluminum Dodge wheels with black painted pockets. Inside, the cloth interior is punctuated with yellow and silver striping and stitching. Subtle it is not.
Similarly, the Challenger Yellow Jacket is covered in various coatings of yellow and black, both inside and out, with the addition of a new Yellow Jacket logo. Both models come equipped with Chrysler's venerable 6.4-liter Hemi V8 engine that puts out 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The Challenger is available with either a six-speed manual or five-speed automatic; the Charger offers only the auto.

From its original introduction in 2008, the mid-size Journey crossover was right on target with respect to packaging, sheetmetal and some of the flexibility features. Dodge kept the Journey's target audience in mind—those crafty new families who need an "everything" car. What it didn't have was a cabin we'd want to sit in, or a modern six-cylinder drivetrain worth our extra dollars.
Most of those shortcomings are fixed in the 2011 Journey. It looks essentially the same from the outside, but what's been tossed on the junk heap—where it always belonged—is the old dash, with its funny, tilted, squared-off gauges and sheeny, brittle plastics that brought back bad memories of the Omni hatchbacks. The new dash design isn't a home run, and it does carry over lots of contact with front-seaters' knees, but it gut-checks the cheap feeling entirely.
Look aside from the fleet-ish four-cylinder, four-speed drivetrain that keeps the Journey's pricetag under $20,000. With its trade-offs in shift quality, you'll still want to opt up to the Journey's new Pentastar V-6 option. It replaces the old 235-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 that felt old and hoary when it first made the rounds, back in Chrysler's Mitsubishi period. The new V-6 is a bit riper, a bit more plush-sounding, and even if it doesn't feel quite up to its stated 283 horsepower, it's a magnitude better than what passed before. The new six-speed automatic's shift quality? Give it a mulligan for now—it's just too shuddery and hesitant. Handling is reasonably responsive in the Journey, and some of the changes to the suspension—like stiffer, better-responding shocks and lowered ride height—have honed some of its duller responses. The ride quality remains a strong point, with the proper damping and roll control for a family vehicle, but steering feel still leaves a lot to be desired.

Since the Chrysler Group joined up with Fiat, its brand portfolio has grown to include Chrysler, Dodge, Ram, Jeep and Fiat vehicles. And you know what that means: more stuff for Mopar to tinker with. That's just what Auburn Hills has got in store for the upcoming SEMA show in Vegas, with a whole slew of show cars to demonstrate just what the group's performance parts division can do.
The Chrysler brand itself will be represented by the 300 SF6, dedicated to the Spring Festival of Chrysler 300 owners in Southern California. It's distinguished by 22-inch alloys, a KW coil-over suspension and upgraded brakes, intake, headers and exhaust – all from the Mopar parts bin – plus special trim inside and out.
Over at Dodge, the Challenger SRT8 gets the ACR treatment with upgraded suspension, shifter, front splitter, exhaust and 20-inch wheels, capped by a paint job evocative of the much-loved Viper ACR. It's joined by the Durango Tow Hook, decked out in orange and black with 22-inch rolling stock on a dropped suspension.
Fiat continues to make the most of the 500 with two specials called Titanium and Carbon. The former takes its name from the matte-finish brightwork and 16-inch wheels that contrast with the black paint, with enlarged grilles feeding the upgraded intake and exhaust systems. The latter, meanwhile, decks out a 500 Sport in deep blue with carbon-fiber accents and blacked-out trim and 17-inch alloys, riding on a lowered suspension.
Finally, the Ram division is represented by the 392 Quick Silver, dropping a 470-horsepower Hemi V8 into the Ram R/T's engine bay. 22-inch wheels on a lowered suspension house 15-inch Brembo brakes to keep it under control, with a body glazed in silver with red accents and a black roof to do the talking.

Their sales dominated the North American minivan scene until the 2008, when they dropped the short wheelbase versions, made the styling “blockier,” sacrificed seat comfort for swivels, and tuned Dodge and Chrysler models the same way.

For 2011, the Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & Country show a different mind-set. The suspensions were retuned, regaining some of the nimble, light feel of years past, and giving the minivans better-than-SUV responsiveness. The new, standard Pentastar V6 and six-speed automatic also give the minivans something they've rarely had — best in class horspower.
When we tested the V6 Grand Cherokee, which has the same basic engine (tuned differently), we thought the engine was refined, but we noted delays in acceleration (not nearly as bad as those in some competitors). Image by Loulair Harton via Flickr

Oh, what a difference the transmission makes. The five-speed Mercedes automatic in the Grand Cherokee is downright slow compared with the six-speed Chrysler automatic in the Dodge Caravan. Drive gently, the way most people do all the time, and the engine will rarely ever rev past 2,000 rpm, except perhaps when merging onto a highway or getting up to speed on a rural road; shifts are barely perceptible. Push your foot down further, especially with the “Eco” button off, and the transmission will quickly downshift, putting you into the 3,500-and-higher power band of the Pentastar Six. That gives the Caravan a far sportier feel than the Grand Cherokee; so does the less-luxury-oriented suspension tuning, which transmits more of the road feel.

Make no mistake, the Grand Cherokee is responsive; but the Caravan, with nine less horsepower, is more responsive. Part of that is due to having less “luxury feel;” the smoother the power, the more cushioned the suspension, the less responsive the vehicle usually feels. Part of it, no doubt, has to do with differences in the transmission. The five speed Mercedes automatic in the Grand Cherokee, which Chrysler appears to have marked for phase-out over the next two years, is relatively slow to shift, and has one less gear; the six-speed in the Chrysler, with variable line pressure, is both faster to shift and takes advantage of a low first gear.Image by davef3138 via Flickr

The 2011 Charger is designed to be a Charger this time, but not just any one. “Forget the Chargers of the Eighties,” says Gilles. Dodge looked to the second-generation Charger (1968–’70) for the new body’s defining characteristics. “We went a little nostalgic in the look,” Gilles tells us. The most obvious throwbacks are the scooped-out hood and doors that recall the Gen-2 model. But those flourishes run deeper into the metal and are exaggerated here. Along the doors, the top of the punched-in crease becomes the shoulder line that broadens outward like a Coke bottle and defines the rear fender, another late-’60s Charger trait. The taillights, made up of 162 glowing LEDs, are a modern tip of the hat to the ’70 Charger. But aside from these design cues, the overall look avoids slavishly copying the past. If you want retro, buy a Challenger. The new car wears just enough vintage armor to satisfy the Charger gods, even if it still has two extra doors.
To make customers happy, all versions of the Charger get dual exhaust tips and the option of up to 20-inch wheels (17-inch aluminum wheels are standard). Choose the right options, and the V-6 Charger can look just like the Hemi V-8 version, spoiler and all. For those who can’t resist the lure of the Hemi engine, the 5.7-liter V-8 carries over from last year with an expected 370 horsepower. That engine has no trouble fulfilling the Charger’s muscle-car contract. But the V-6 isn’t the rental-fleet special any more. The corporate 250-hp, 3.5-liter V-6 and the 178-hp, 2.7-liter V-6 are dead, replaced by a new 3.6-liter V-6 that will make an estimated 292 horsepower. Both the V-6 and V-8 use a carry-over five-speed automatic; more gears are rumored for the future. While the six lacks the deep rumble and torque of the V-8, it can accelerate the Charger with plenty of thrust (we estimate 0 to 60 in 6.5 seconds). Despite the added V-6 power, the new engine should achieve fuel economy in the neighborhood of 18 city and 26 highway, numbers that would match the far less powerful 2.7-liter V-6, thanks to the five-speed transmission (up from four) and the new, more slippery body.

With how much the aftermarket industry has grown in the past 5 years it has become more difficult to make your vehicle stand out from the rest. Door conversions or as often referred to as Lambo doors,Vertical doors,Diablo doors,Gullwing doors or Suicide doors. Suicide doors have been around since the twenties and have appeared and reappeared over the years in the aftermarket world. Recently they have reappeared with the craze of Lambo style doors and Gullwing doors. Weld on kits are the most durable and reliable. Steer clear of the many bolt on kits on the market that utilize the factory mounting positions for mounting the aftermarket hinge. The factory hinge placement is neither reinforced nor intended to handle the torque and additional weight added to it by putting the door up and out away front the vehicle. These kits over time are usually susceptible to fatigue or "sag" causing problems with door alignment and in some cases actually falling off the vehicle.

Cadillac CTS Accessories .

SPEED CAMERAS are unlawful because they have not been properly approved by Parliament, a legal campaigner said as he announced plans to challenge their use in the High Court.

Robbie the Pict, a community lawyer from the Isle of Skye, also says cameras that trap motorists if they run a red light have been used unlawfully.

The 61-year-old, who successfully campaigned against a toll on a bridge linking the Isle of Skye to the mainland, says that since July 1992 the Government has not implemented traffic cameras through the correct legal process.

Currently the devices are signed off by the Home Secretary, but Robbie the Pict says the law states each different model of camera must be approved by statutory instrument, a technical term he describes as a mini Act of Parliament.

His case will be heard in the Scottish Court of Appeal in Edinburgh on Wednesday before he takes it to the High Court in London.

He says that if his challenge is successful, the Government could have to pay back an estimated £600 million in fines issued to motorists.

Robbie the Pict said: "The challenge is fundamental. Its point is that none of the cameras have been authorised according to statute since July 1991.

"Therefore when they (the police) say they have video evidence for a £60 fine and three points, the evidence they have is inadmissible in court."

He added: "I have decided to take it forward because I have seen so many people ripped off with these cameras and I know they are legally wrong."

It ran fine ever since until yesterday morning. Then it did the same thing - only this time it didn’t start at all until later in the day when it started just fine and ran fine again. I could turn it off and let it sit and it would start. Then this morning - once again - it won’t start.
It did rain the past two nights, but it has rained before and I had no issues so I doubt that is the issue. It just will not catch and actually start. All the power is fine - battery is fine. This is frustrating because I am a widow with two small children and really need this dang car - plus I just bought it - have made only one payment.

These kinds of starting problems can be a real pain to track down and repair. You have to rule out what the missing ingredient is as to why the engine will not start. Is it not getting enough fuel, or is it not getting spark to the spark plugs. Is there compression…are the pistons moving up and down inside the engine, or did the timing belt break?
Unfortunately both of these items are not very easy to check yourself….things are just too complicated these days to do much at home.
I would suggest you do a few things, just to rule out the very basic stuff (you might get lucky)
1. Open the hood and look for anything that might have broken off or is hanging loose….follow the spark plug wires from the spark plugs back to the top of the engine…are they still attached to something at both ends?2. Does the engine sound funny when you try to start it? If the timing belt broke, the engine will spin over MUCH faster than normal and will sound like there is no resistance to it …which there is not anymore if the belt broke.
The timing belt is located inside the engine so you can not see it. You can remove the oil filler cap on the top of the engine and have someone crank the engine over…you should see things moving up and down inside the oil filler cap area. If you do, the belt is OK, if you don’t , the timing belt might have broken.
3. Have someone bang on the bottom of the fuel tank with their fist or a rubber hammer AS you crank the engine over…this can help jump start a weak electric fuel pump which is located inside the fuel tank.
